Taxis waiting at Bali Airport do not carry child seats. If you want your child in one for the drive to your hotel, it has to be arranged before you land. We fit a child seat on request for IDR 200,000 per day. Here is what else is worth knowing.
Is a child seat required by law in Bali?
No. Indonesia’s national traffic law requires seat belts for the driver and the front-seat passenger, and it has no specific rule on child restraints. That is the reason cars here do not come with one by default. Whether your child travels in a seat is your decision, and you need to plan for it yourself.
Your three options
- Bring your own seat. You know it fits your child. Ask your airline how they carry it, and ask us how the seat will be fixed in the car so you know it is compatible.
- Book a transfer with a seat already fitted. Tell us when you book and the seat is in the car before the driver leaves for the airport.
- Rent one for your whole stay. Baby equipment hire companies in Bali deliver seats to hotels and villas. This suits families who will use several different drivers.

Please ask when you book. A seat cannot be added once the driver is already at the airport.

A child seat takes one full seat in the car. The Avanza is priced by route, from IDR 200,000 to Kuta up to IDR 400,000 to Ubud or Canggu. The Innova (IDR 850,000) and Hiace (IDR 1,300,000) are flat full-day rates, and the car stays with you for about 10 hours after pickup. See all routes and prices.
The ride itself, with children
- Drive times. About 20 minutes to Kuta, 30 to Seminyak, Sanur or Nusa Dua, 45 to Canggu and 60 to 90 to Ubud.
- No rush at immigration. We track your flight and the driver waits up to 90 minutes after landing at no charge.
- Short stops are fine. An ATM, a convenience store or a toilet break on the way is included.
- Late arrivals. We run at any hour, and the roads are quietest at night.

Normally not. They are ordinary cars and you cannot request a seat when you book on arrival.
Can my child sit on my lap instead?

Can I keep the seat for my whole holiday?
The seat is charged per day, so you can have it on any day you book a private driver with us.
